If you have not yet seen our blog post on what to do with a new website, please be sure to read it. We give quick tips on how to affordably market a new website in your spare time (if you choose to do so rather than hire out this task). Tips include the following:
Having a profile on the local Better Business Bureau website Having a profile on the local Chamber of Commerce website Having profiles on other local maps websites (Google maps, Yahoo maps, Bing maps, Yellow Pages, Yellow Book, Yelp, etc.). Having profiles on other local social media websites (such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, and many more). Having profiles on other industry specific directory websites (such as Merchant Circle, Manta, Angies List, Home Advsior, Houzz, etc.). Having profiles on other industry specific forum websites - be the subject matter expert and answer questions that arise.
Our biggest tip is to once a month, do a Google Search for your business name (and perhaps location). Not only is this good for reputation management, but you may find a website (such as Manta or Merchant Circle) that has made a profile on your behalf. You'll want to be sure to click on these links, "claim" the profile, and edit the text to include updated text, pictures, and more importantly - a link to your website. This is called relevant link building and will help your overall long-term search engine optimization. More resource links are available here. Have you read our blog?
Let us know if you'd like us to do this for you at the reasonable price of $70 (1 hour) per month. Thank you again for letting us build your new website. We look forward to continually working with you.
